  1. Core Competencies Fund Development and Management—Global Equities and Sharia Compliant Products Design and management of Funds and Managed Portfolios specializing in global stocks. Competency in Traditional and Sharia Compliant product development; products focused in the following regions: US, Europe, Japan, Emerging Markets, Asian ex-Japan, and GCC. In the future, Sector Funds may be offered, including infrastructure, energy, industrial, real estate—partnering, where appropriate, with our international counterparties--Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan—and also selected Swiss Banks.

  2. Core Competencies Fund Development and Management—Alternative Investments Design and management of registered mutual funds specializing in “Alternative Investments,” including hedge funds, infrastructure, private equity—partnering, where appropriate, with international firms, like Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan.

  3. Core Competencies Fund Development and Management—Structured Products Design and management of Structured Products together with major international investment banks to offer capital guarantees. An example is the guaranteed long-only global macro fund managed by Artex Value, together with Merrill Lynch International (attachment available upon request).

  4. Core Competencies Fund Development and Management—Retirement and Savings Plan Structure Each of the largest, most liquid funds developed can be tied together in the form of a regular savings plan (Spar Plan) to allow for monthly or quarterly investments over several years. Direct withdrawals from savings or checking accounts, or recurring charges to VISA / Mastercard accounts also available. Also, it is possible to link insurance products to the investment schemes.

  5. Core Competencies Equity Swaps Aegis can work with large international banks, like Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan to set up and execute a variety of Equity Swaps, focusing on investments in GCC equities. Artex Value has discussed this concept with the banks mentioned, which also have clients to introduce for this activity.

  6. Core Competencies Fund Administration Artex Value has developed its own software for fund administration that includes customer statements for regular and savings plan investments, automated news updates, and online capabilities for investors to access account information, using data bases that track all customer entries—both purchases and redemptions.

  7. Core Competencies Fund Accounting Artex Value has developed its own accounting software for fund accounting, general ledger programs. Artex Value also has on staff a CPA, available to assist in the instruction of this software and associated applications.

  8. Core Competencies Internet IT Interface Artex Value has a team of programmers in Chicago and Europe for ongoing applications and expansion of existing software, and can bring this to bear for most any requirement within the bank. If necessary, most programs can be made available via our web-based servers, giving the bank and investors access to their investment information.

  9. Core Competencies Education and Training Artex Value includes a team of MBA professors--leaders in the area of finance, entrepreneurship and creative thinking-- available to structure a variety of programs tailor made to the bank’s needs. In-house classes include: stock analysis, investment management, IPO development, entrepreneurship, accounting and business management and applications.

  10. Core Competencies Global Equity Indexing Business Artex Value is working with Morningstar, Inc, in Chicago, to develop a series of Sharia compliant stock indexes for the Saudi and GCC markets.

  11. Core Competencies Investment Banking Through its Education and Training (above), Artex Value can assist and advise in the development of an in-house IPO development operation, and help expand cross syndication with the Bank’s institutional correspondents throughout the GCC, to enhance marketing and distribution of products.
