  6. Basic Beliefs • Buddhists don’t believe in any God-neither monotheistic or polytheistic • Centers on the individual • People should live life in moderation • Find spiritual truth through self-discipline and selflessness • Live a monastic lifestyle • Believe in non-violence

  7. Nirvana • The ultimate reward • Releases you from reincarnation • When you achieve nirvana, you become one with the universe.

  8. Stupa • Earthen mounds built by worshippers of Buddha
