  1. Who is Miss Ebner?

  2. Grew up in Denver, Colorado

  3. I was raised in a family of 7 (5 kids & 2 parents).My father was the only that worked. He never made more than $18,000/yr.It was my parents dream that each of us get a college degree (& have braces).All 5 of us have done both!

  12. How Did I Get Involved in DECA?

  13. It all started back at Jefferson High Schoolin Colorado

  14. I was in DECA!!!Placed 1st in the State for the Free Enterprise Project Competed at the National Conference in Washington DC

  15. Went to Utah State UniversityFor 3 years

  16. Finished my Degree at Colorado State University

  17. Taught at Evergreen High School in Colorado for 4 Years

  18. Where we had the #3 ranked DECA Chapter in the State!!

  19. Then I went out into the Corporate World….

  20. Where I worked in the Car Rental Business for 11+ Years

  21. I moved about every 1 ½ yrs while I was in the Car Rental Business: • Charlotte, NC • Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ • Tallahassee, FL (Go Seminoles!) • Charleston, SC • Birmingham, AL I also spent up to 3 months at a time in: • Myrtle Beach, NC (set up a new location) • Atlanta, GA (taught hiring & training practices) • Memphis, TN

  22. During the last 15 months I worked there, I spent 3 months commuting to Memphis, 5 months commuting to Houston, and 3 months commuting to Fort Lauderdale. (11 mos on the road)I would get on a plane Monday morning & came home on Friday or Saturday to Birmingham.

  23. After climbing the corporate ladder (I finally made it to corporate headquarters), I knew something was missing because I was not happy with my career anymore.I realized that I was meant to help others learn to believe in themselves – as in Teaching High School again!

  24. In the meantime (before I could get a teaching job), I needed to work (bills to pay!). So, I went to work for an International Air Ambulance & Private Airline Company

  25. After 3 yrs, I finally got a job Teaching again!

  26. We had the LARGEST DECA CHAPTER in the State of Alabama all 4 yrs I was there • We were one of the BEST high schools in DECA for competitors! • We had the State President! • We went to the International DECA Conference every year! (California, Dallas, Nashville, Orlando)

  27. GET INVOLVED in DECA! It can change your life!

  28. Then I got the chance to move to Asheville, NC (one of my dreams) to come & teach at A.C. Reynolds High School!

  29. So, I left my home in Alabama…

  30. At first, I lived in a 4 room cottage in Black Mountain

  31. Now I live in Asheville

  32. With my cat, Bella

  33. And my dog, Millie

  34. What do I do with my spare time?(besides grading papers, DECA, & doing lesson plans….)

  35. I enjoy gardening

  36. I like going to festivals & art shows

  37. And I love spending time & having fun with my friends & family!

  39. So, all in all,…Please know that what I will be teaching you: • Are real life business skills • Are keys to how to be successful • Will help you make good money! • Will help you climb the career ladder • Is reality!

  40. I have very high expectationsfor each & every one of you!Laziness is NOT an option!I want you to be the BEST you can be!

  41. The one thing I want you to learn most of all isto BELIEVE in yourself!!

  42. If you believe in yourself, you truly can do anything!
