  2. When Did African Slaves immigrate to United States? And Why? • African Slaves were brought to America around 1619. When the first ship that sold slaves arrived at Virginia. • Why? Because of the slave trade, Almost every African forced migration was because of slavery.

  3. Where did African Slaves First settle in the United States? • Since they arrived at Virginia many of their owners were from there. Then they were transported to states around Virginia and in 1789 states who officially had slaves were: • Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, • New Jersey, • New York, Delaware, Connecticut.

  4. What Was Their Life Like When they first arrived to the united States? • Their lives were horrible. They worked without being paid for many hours and were treated very badly. It was a lot of years until slavery was abolished.

  5. How did the Africans slaves influence on American music? • They came over to America and played their music and then the Americans caught on and started making music that sounded kind of like the Africans music, examples are: • Blues, Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, etc…

  6. How did the African’s slaves influence on American food? • African slaves were given their monthly allowance of food, so there weren't many foods they could prepare. During slavery they couldn’t eat better pieces of meat than their owners. • Food wasn’t affected as much as other things because slaves didn’t get much food.

  7. How did the African’s slaves influence on American Language? • Slave owners used to mix Africans that didn't speak the same language, which gave origin to pidgins (mixes of two languages). • And many dialects used by African slaves are used today.

  8. How did the African’s slaves influence on American Holidays? African Slaves (after African-Americans) have influenced in holidays creating these: Black music month, Birthdays of Martin Luther King Jr, Frederic Douglass, Emancipation day. African slaves used to celebrate Kwanzaa
