  7. Land ship or tank • created before the battle of Vimy • The first combat tank was produced and finished January 1916 • about 14 tons • designed for crossing over trenches

  11. Results of the Battle • After three days of fighting Canada and Britaincaptured Vimy Ridge • over 10000 were wounded • about 3000 killed

  12. Significance • Britain, France and Russia were allies, which means that when France needed help against the Germans. • Canada came to help Britain and France and they fought off the Germans from invading Vimy Ridge. • the first time that troops from all parts of Canada fought together.
