  2. What exactly is a Specialist Group? A specialist group (SG)is a vehicle for networking and issue-based interaction on water-related scientific, technical and management topics. IWA has 49 Specialist Groups Vehicles for collaboration/knowledge sharing in SGs: A management committee is the body that oversees the day-to-day activities of a specialist group Task groups - formed to undertake task; closed membership; time limited Working group – formed to collaborate; open membership; unlimited time Self- managed Open to IWA members

  3. What does engagement in SG bring Join an unlimited number of Specialist Groups Work towards a common purpose in your field Build a Network Continuous learning Gain work experience Develop skills Share knowledge and information

YWP role in Management committees • Participate in decision-making • Represent YWPs in the Specialist Groups • Lead YWP activities of the group • Lead/support task groups • Aid the formation of working groups YWP in Management Committee • Enhance YWP engagement at SG conferences/workshops: • Responsiblefor engaging YWPs • Contact where possible the YWP chapter (in host country) • Gather YWPs for tasks (reviewing papers, YWP rapporteur, organise debates, sessions) • Organiseskill development workshops/ YWP forums • Set upmentoring during conferences

YWP role in Specialist Groups • Engage in SG events / workshops • Review papers • Becomea YWP rapporteur • Support organisation of skill development workshops / forum for YWPs • Propose organisation of workshop • Organise or gain access to mentoring during conferences • Contribute to knowledge in the group • Shareyour success story and start discussions in SG • Connectwith YWPs from other SGs in similar fields • Connect YWPs to keen senior professionals in the group • Contribute to a task group/ working group • Submit an idea to SG management committee YWP Membership in SG
