Patient Restraints • Limb • soft padded • Be able to insert 2 fingers under secured restraint • Mitt • Be sure hook-and-loop strap(s) is around the wrist and not the forearm • Jacket • Comes in sizes S to XL. Be sure it is APPROPRIATELY SIZED to prevent patient harm. • Place on patient with opening in the back • Be sure side seams are under the arms • Close with zipper • Be able to slide an open hand between the device and the patient • Foam Padded Belt • Place on patient with the foam facing in • Be able to slide an open hand between the device and the patient for proper fit • HCH Staff Education 2013
