  7. 2 Educational Supervisors Clinical Supervisor Parent Specialty Supervisor

  8. Clinical Supervisor

  9. Clinical Supervisor should • Know the curriculum • Confirm what is expected of you • Be accessible… • Meet formally • at least 0, 3, 6 months • Give appraisal and feedback • Collate MSFs and feed back • Complete end-of-module paperwork

  10. The ACCS Trainee should • Know the curriculum • Know what is expected of you • Be accessible… • Initiate regular meetings • at least 0, 3, 6 months • And bring correct paperwork • Seek support if required • Be pro-active and organised!!

  11. Clinical Supervisor • In loco parentis • First port of call for difficulties • On both sides • Communicate with parent supervisor

  13. Parent Specialty Supervisor • 4 in each ACCS hospital • 1 for each specialty • 2 Main Roles: • Careers advice, exam support etc • Continuity of Care: esp. if problems • Make contact when you start • Meet as required

  14. Parent Specialty Supervisor • Works very well sometimes • But not always • Other sources of support: • ACCS Lead in each hospital • ACCS-Wales Lead for each Parent Specialty • ACCS Specialty Manager • All contact details in your Workbook

  15. Teaching • Weekly protected teaching time • This is for current module • Welcome at parent specialty teaching • But is not protected • Free time or Study Leave
