  3. For many the Bible is a closed Book:They have not read it or trusted it.

  4. Introduction How old is the universe? “For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Ex. 20:11 How old is “man” (i.e., mankind)? What is the one thing that WE have that Adam did not have?

God’s Gives Man A Universe:Highly Integrated & Interdependent, 4-7 7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. • God made a system • God designed things to work together in a highly integrated way

  7. 2a. God Gives Man A Home, A Purpose And A Challenge, 8-17 A. The Place: 8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden… B. The Challenge: An opportunity to use skills 9b In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil… 17 …but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

  10. 3a. God Gives Man Personal Companionship, 18-25 A. God Reveals His Concern For Man’s Emotions 18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” B. God Reveals Concern For Man’s Need To Discover 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.

God Reveals His Concern For Acceptance & Intimacy 23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman’, for she was taken out of man.” D. God Reveals His Concern For Oneness 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. 25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

  12. The Challenge… Jesus wants to be inyour life today, now. He wants to bring His love, creativity and power into your life. What stands in the way? Recognition of rebellion (sin)and your invitationto Him.
