  1. Synthetic Approach Toward RollicosinJeng-Lin Lee2, Kun-Sheng Wang1, Ming-Jung Wu1, 21Faculty of Medicinal and Applied Chemistry, 2Graduate Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Abstract Rollicosin 1,1 isolated from Rollina mucosa Baill, is a new type of annonaceous acetogenin showed potent growing inhibition against human cancer cell lines. Recently, the synthesis of 4-deoxy rollicosin analog 22 was completed in nine steps, which was based on palladium-catalyzed coupling of two building blocks 3 and 4. Lactone 3 was synthesized starting from 5-hexyn-1-ol, and vinyl iodide 4 was accessed from L-glutamate and 1-hexyne. Efforts for the synthesis of rollicosin 1 have also been carried out. All the synthetic strategy and results will be presented in this paper.
