  5. Objectives • Develop six organic forms that are inspired by seed pods. • Experiment with different tools and techniques to create unique forms and textures. • Create a ceramic work that functions as a rattle and can be stacked on a pole for display. • Describe the methods that you used to construct your pods, as well as, the tools that you used and how they were used to create various textures. • Use your thumbs to pinch two bowl-like forms that are similar in size called pinch pots

  6. Create two similar Pinch pots Roll out several balls of clay to put inside pod form to make the rattle sound.

  7. Slip and Score them together Include Clay Balls (for rattle sound inside)

  8. Alter the form of the oval shape Use different tools or add clay to the surface to create an interesting texture inspired by pod forms.

  9. Cut two holes across from each other that are large enough to be displayed on a dowel rod Create 6 unique forms that vary in size and texture. These holes will also allow air to get into the forms so that they do not blow up.

  10. Once Fired, Experiment with Glaze Application. Apply at least three coats of glaze. Experiment with layering colors on top of other colors.

  11. Construct a Totem Stand Using A dowel Rod, base, and wood glue. Once all pods are glaze fired, place the pods in an interesting order on the Totem Stand to display in the library.
