  3. Site Ranking The Zone Club internship was a very enjoyable experience for me, as well as very beneficial. Through the internship, I was able to learn a great deal about myself, the college athletics industry, and facility management. I was also able to gain valuable management experience through working with student workers and being their superior. The knowledge I gained through this internship is very valuable to me. However, there were times that I was either doing nothing or doing mundane tasks that were not very beneficial to my growth. Because of this, I gave the internship an overall 4.

  4. Words of Wisdom • Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty, your hard work will not go unnoticed. • Keep a positive attitude, it will make the work more enjoyable for you and those around you. • Increase your network by meeting as many people as possible. • Coffee is your best friend!

  5. Internship Objectives • Overall Objective: My overall objective is to be able to plan and coordinate and manage all aspects of events held in the Zone Club by utilizing its personnel, equipment, and resources as well as maintaining valuable consumer relationships, facility maintenance, and safety. Specific Objectives: 1) Must be able to fully coordinate and manage an event from pre-event meeting to end of event breakdown without the supervision of site supervisor. 2) Conduct a complete building inspection for upcoming football season and complete all assigned tasks of building maintenance issues from inspection. 3) Complete marketing tasks to increase Zone Club awareness.

  6. Daily Activities • Open Zone Club at 7:30 a.m. • Set up/Break down event in club room if needed • Move furniture and equipment for department to desired locations • Attend meetings regarding facilities and events • Perform maintenance tasks to increase quality of Zone Club • Lock Zone Club at 5:00 p.m.

  7. Project Description • Aggie Ladies’ Chalk Talk A dinner and banquet where A&M football coaches and players talk football with and entertain the female attendants. • Intern is responsible for: • corresponding with the head of the program in the athletic department • Pre-event meeting with program head • Initial event set up with student workers • Preparing Zone for event • All day of responsibilities that may arise • Final event breakdown • All follow up correspondence
