MST education... in 3 minutes Strategic response to FP7 call to reinforce links science education and science and technology careers in the private sector through reinforcing the partnership industry/education. AIM Increase young Europeans’ interest in mathematics, science and technology education and careers, addressing: * lack of interest in the subjects * the future skills gap • Partnership • - 27 partners / 16 countries: • EUN + 6 MoE + 2 Uni. + 10 Co. + 2 Industry reps. & 6 Natl. MST education H O W Through innovative initiatives and coordinating and building on existing school/business partnerships in the field of MST education across Europe, via * portal: observatory of industry-education information, guidance & good practices in Europe (repository of practice, disseminate and stimulate good practices in Science and Maths and encourage new practices) * validation of good practices (in 150 schools in 15 countries), design programme of activities, organise seminars for teachers on industry-education cooperation in Science and Maths education. Major dissemination/exploitation activities to mainstream & sustain good practices and so increase # opting for MST in schools ==> increase # of Europe’s researchers & scientists. (>1,000 schools targeted) 15
