  5. CRX Peering Data Clearing Process • Trying to leverage the process of and experience gained from Voice Roaming Data Clearing as much as possible • Two sets of reports are defined to be exchanged between CRX providers • Monthly Summary Report: • with total usage, gross payable/receivable and net financial position between each pair of roaming operators • Daily Summary Report: • with usage only, to help identify possible data loss/error at an early stage • Each set of reports contains a pair of files • Data File : contains the summary usage rolled up at per roaming operator pair level • Transmittal File : provides statistics on data file to ensure data integrity • To simplify the implementation of each CRX data clearing system, daily and monthly summary reports share same file format and content definition

  6. Report Files Format and Content Files are in .csv format File names indicating file type, the sending CRX and Receiving CRX etc.

  11. Agenda • Interface definition for Data Clearing between peering CRX Providers • Testing for Data Clearing between peering CRX Providers • DOC #104 • A brief history of DOC 103 and DOC 104

  12. Objective and Testing Method • Objective 1: Confirms all CRX providers have the same understanding on the Xk interface definition as defined in DOC 103 • Testing Method: • Pre-define a set of pseudo data and the expected monthly and daily summary report • The data are designed to be non-CRX specific, thus it can be repeated by any new CRX providers • Each CRX provider produces such reports and send to the other CRX party • Each CRX provider receives such reports from other party and verify the contents • Above data and process are defined in DOC 104

  13. Objective and Testing Method • Objective 2: Confirms the network connection for electronic data file exchange is up • Testing Method: • The network connection is proprietary to each Peering CRX pair. • So the testing method is up to the Peering CRX pair to define • The testing result is shared with the group members

  14. Objective and Testing Method • Objective 3: Confirms the data clearing systems of all CRX providers are fully functioning, which means • RADIUS UDR can be processed • Monthly and Daily Summary reports can be produced from the RADIUS system • Testing Method: • A set of RADIUS UDR is collected from real AAA system • Such UDR is massaged to • Be independent of CRX and Operator so that can be used by any Peering CRX pair • Ensure the testing result are predictable and verifiable • Each CRX provider takes this set of UDR and produces monthly summary report and daily report, and exchanged with peering partner.

  16. A brief history of DOC 103 and 104 • Authors: • All CRX providers: Aicent, NeuStar (initially), Syniverse and VeriSign • Milestones: • Jan.25th,2005: First draft • Mar.10th, 2005: Face-to-face meeting among CRX providers hosted by Syniverse at Tampa, FL • May.20th, 2005: Reviewed by CDMA operators • Jun.2nd, 2005: Latest version 0.8 • Jun.14th, 2005: testing RADIUS CDR data set • As of today: working on establishing net work connection between CRX providers
