  3. Homestead • Most meals at the Homestead will take place at Nona’s • Breakfast 8:00-9:00 everyday but Wednesday when we will have the Conference trip • Lunch 12:30 • Dinner 20:00 • Facilities: • several pools • SPA • Golf course

  4. Field Trip • Depart for Leland at 8:30. • Boat to Manitou Island • Tracking on the Island for about 5 hours. Note there is not food on the island and we will take a box lunch • Return to Leland • Dinner at the Bluebird in Leland at 7:00 pm

  5. Secretariat • The office is open 9:00 am-6:00 pm. Kirk Arndt will be the main person at the office. Please contact him for help. • Other Purdue people that can help are: Amit Roy, Carsten Rott, Gino Bolla and Daniela Bortoletto

  6. Goals • Exchange information • Active discussion • Most talks will include a 20 minute presentation and a 10 minute discussion • Questions during a talk are encouraged • Summary of the performance of the vertex detectors that are currently taking data • Status of the ones that are in construction • Reports on radiation hardness studies

  7. Special sessions • Focus on specific issues: • Construction of large system • Module assembly of pixel detectors • Triggering on displaced vertices • Device simulation (first time at Vertex) • Speakers have been asked to: • report on specific features • analyze possible design improvements • suggest novel solutions

  8. Dissemination • The talks will be posted on the www as soon as possible. To facilitate this task • Please provide Kirk with an electronic version of your talk • After your talk sort your transparencies and hand them to the chairperson who will give them to the secretariat. You can collect your transparencies from the secretariat after they are scanned. • One hardcopy of each talk will be available for consultation and for summary talk.

  9. Proceedings • The proceedings will be published in a special issue of NIM A. To make the NIM schedule the proceedings should be handed in before October 15, 2000. • Every paper will be reviewed by a single referee. • Details on how to prepare your contribution are provided on the VERTEX 2000 web page. http://www.physics.purdue.edu/vertex/submission.html • Papers will have to be sent to Purdue via anonymous ftp at ftp.physics.purdue.edu with your e-mail address as the password and the directory path pub/incoming/vertex.
