  1. TANU CHOKSI Kids, Teens and Therapy

  2. Troubled Teens • Why would you need to ever look up a therapist for teens? • Because over night, your extremely sweet and adorable child has undergone a personality change and you suddenly do not relate, you cannot communicate and things are at an all time low in your family. • Your child is going through a lot of changes rapidly and sometimes it gets so out of control that you will not be able to track the change or identify the trigger that caused the damage. • Was it a fault of yours? Is it something at school? Find out with the help of a therapist for teens.

  3. Troubled Children • Children are very fragile. They are moulded by the very environment that they are raised in. There may come a time when you may require behavioral therapy for children as your child may not be in a happy place. • How do you identify this need? By monitoring your children. • When you feel that you are no longer in control of the situation, it is always better to visit a therapist for teens or check out programs that provide behavioral therapy for children.

  4. Identifying the Problems • In order to determine whether you need a therapist for teens or you need to enroll your child into some behavioral therapy for children you need to monitor your child’s behaviour. • Does your child no longer communicate with you? • Has your child lost interest in school or any other activity that is part of his or her day to day routine? • Does your child exhibit listlessness, restlessness or is your child appearing stressed or worried? All of the above could result in the need for a session in behavioral therapy for children.

  5. How Does it Work? • How does visiting a therapist for teens help your teenager? • Your teenager may identify with this adult as someone they can speak to about various issues such as identity crisis, gender crisis, confusion in one’s sexuality or may be they are a victim of some sort of abuse or may be abusing substances under peer pressure that they may not be able to talk to with their parents. • Talking to a therapist for teens makes them feel safe, secure and comfortable. • It gives them hope that their problems might just go away.

  6. How Does it Work For Kids? • Behavioral Therapy for Children is all about helping those kids that may have self-esteem issues, anxiety disorders or a serious anger problem. • This form of therapy involves art, role-playing, painting, talk therapy, poetry, dancing and basically systematic forms of communication that have been put into place to understand what it is that is bothering the child. • It works best when the child, teacher, parent and therapist work together cohesively to bring about a reform; through behavioral therapy for children.
