  3. Clientele of the NWSM • Various issues: homelessness; conjugal violence; addictions; PTSD; medical issues; culture shock; racism; youth protection; etc. • Discrimination: culture; financial situation; gender; language; beliefs; sexual orientation; negative public attitudes; etc.

  4. Culturally Appropriate Service Delivery Model • Traditional meeting medical • Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing (integrated and holistic approach) • Medicines and ceremonies • Emphasis is placed on healing from the effects of residential school and intergenerational trauma

  5. Integrated care: art, culture, & critical thinking • Empowerment: • doing something meaningful • recognition of lived experience • collective solidarity • Holistic: • all senses, remembering, • storytelling, trusting , sharing, healing • hoping, preventing, dreaming
