Factorising Quadratics

Factorising Quadratics. x 2 +2x – 8 can be written in factorised form as (x+4)(x-2) Setting (x+4)(x-2)= 0 and hence solving for x+4 =0 and x-2 =0 Makes x 1 =-4 and x 2 = 2 . We call the points where the curve crosses the x axis roots.
