  3. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz is the current King of Saudi Arabia. He came to power in 2005 when the former king, King Fahd, died. He is the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers and the commander of the National Guard. King Abdullah created several new projects involving economic, social, education, and health projects. The king also opened up two new universities- Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University for Girls and the King Abdullah University for Science and Technology. He also hosted the Jeddah energy summits to help stabilize global oil markets. Currently, King Abdullah is trying to prevent the extremist group ISIS from invading Saudi Arabia.
