  1. JUST BELIEVE Mark 5:21-43

  2. Setting the Stage: Vs. 21-24 • Large crowds are gathered around Jesus • A desperate synagogue ruler gets His attention • Why did Jesus go with Jairus? • He fell at Jesus’ feet – this showed: • Desperation • Reverence • He pled earnestly – prayed a lot • Jairus believed Jesus could help & as a result Jesus went with him • On the way to Jairus’ house… vs. 25-34 • A large crowd pressed around Jesus • A woman with a need interrupts the journey

  3. Why did this woman get healed? • She was determined • After 12 years she did not give up on being made whole • She did not let the crowd discourage her • She pushed through the crowd • She touched Jesus • Touched = to attach oneself to, touch • She believed all she had to do was touch Jesus and she would be healed • Why did Jesus ask who touched Him? • The question made no sense to the disciples

  4. When we “touch” Jesus, we get His attention • Crowd pushed in around Jesus, but received nothing • Woman “touched” Jesus in a way no one else did • He wanted to validate her • What to do with a bad report?Vs. 35-36 • When the situation gets worse does not mean God is not going to answer your request • Messengers thought the situation was hopeless • Jesus’ answer: Don’t be afraid … Just believe • Afraid – alarmed or frightened • Believe – to entrust, or trust (Christ) alone • Hebrews 11:1

  5. Who to bring along…Vs. 37-40 • People’s attitudes & opinions affect the atmosphere • The crowd does not believe • Know who has the faith to stand with you • BreakthroughVs. 40-43 • KEY: the only thing that matters is what Jesus says

  6. How to find your breakthrough: • Believe that Jesus has the key to your problem • Act on this belief:belief w/o action is not real faith • Honor God • Pray, Pray, Pray • Don’t let anyone or anything get in your way – push through the crowd • Touch Jesus – attach yourself to Him • Find out what Jesus says regarding your situation and believe that – fully entrust it to Him
