What do you see? • 1.  How is the Tsar portrayed in this image?  What does it say about his leadership? • 2.  How is Rasputin portrayed:  weak, strong, dumb, controlling?   • 3.  Paying attention to Rasputin's hands, does he have any control over the throne? How can we tell? • 4.  Does the Tsarina like Rasputin? How can we tell? • 5.  What observations can you make from all of the characters' facial expressions? • 6.  What would this drawing be used for?  What is the purpose of this?

What do you see?... • 1.  Who is at the top and who is at the bottom? • 2.  What does this cartoon say about Russia's social classes? • 3.  Is there an equal distribution of wealth throughout Russia? • 4.  With such a distinct class system, would this create social problems or prevent them? • 5.  How important is religion in Russia?  Does this affect the Tsar? • 6.  Pay attention to the working class and peasant class, what are they doing and how do they feel?
