  4. vision • Expand on virtual support groups to include in-person national momcology sponsored gatherings (retreats & socials) *currently underway • Coordinating helpful services/products for momcology members through strategic partnerships • Become the leader in support for families affected by childhood cancer. “You need to join Momcology for YOU.” -Every Pediatric Oncologist at diagnosis

  5. values • No mother/Primary caregiver should go through a childhood cancer journey feeling alone. • Provide safe, responsive, compassionate and healing virtual support environments • Identify recurring needs of our member community and make connections and create services and products to address those needs. • Act responsibly and in the best interest of each momcology member • Always encourage members to take all questions and concerns to their child’s trusted medical care team.

  6. Why does Momcology work? • No one wants to feel alone • Childhood cancer is extremely isolating for the whole family • It can be hard to find connections even within your own hospital due to healthcare privacy laws. Momcology has broken down the HIPAA barrier. • Traditional support groups run by hospitals have been unsuccessful • Families don’t want to spend more time at the hospital than needed. • Momcology members can contribute as much or as little as they’d like and still gain knowledge and support in our groups. No pressure to share. • Home or Hospital, Momcology support is when and where you need it at all times. • Members learn from each other daily • Mother’s are at the front lines of new information constantly. Momcology gives them a forum to share with many instantaneously. • Momcology is trusted • Our members know we will always guide them in the best interest of their family. No pressure from other organizations within Momcology, Pure support from others who truly understand.

  7. Relationship with Children’s Cancer Research Fund • Raising money for research is a top priority to Momcology members. • Supporting patient families is part of CCRF’s mission. • CCRF is a national organization that supports research through the University of Minnesota which is part of the Children’s Oncology Group Phase 1 & Pilot Consortium, comprised of 21 premier pediatric oncology programs in the country. • U of M is also an-NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of about 40 in the country. • CCRF has identified that the work of Momcology is positively impacting pediatric cancer families and wants to support growth. • CCRF is able to support Momcology through donating professional talent, resources and experience to enhance our combined missions. • Through CCRF, Momcology is able to help educate pediatric cancer families on new cutting-edge research and what it means to their families now and in the future.
