  26. CHRISTIANITY SPLIT INTO TWO BRANCHES • EAST BECOMES THE EASTERN ORTHODOX CHURCH. ( ORTHODOX MEANS “RIGHT BELIEF”) Headed by the Patriarch. • WEST BECOMES ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH HEADED BY THE POPE.
