Warm-up #6 • How did Roman engineers help improve life in the Roman empire? • They built durable roads, swears, public baths, strong bridges, aqueducts, and buildings. • What are some examples of roman engineering and architecture the have influence modern architecture. • The use of domes, columns, arches, modern stadiums, and larger stronger buildings were influenced by ancient Rome.

  3. Freeze Frame • You will be working in cooperative groups to design and plan a 30 second freeze frame depiction of Rome’s greatest accomplishment. You may use you bodies to physically portray Rome’s greatest contribution to modern society by making a motionless group sculpture. • Planning: • Select an accomplishment from this list to physically portray: • Aqueducts • Architectural styles including domes, columns, or arches. • The construction of roads • Roman Baths • Sewers • Plan how you will silently and motionlessly depict the chosen accomplishment. • Write a brief explanation of your scene complete with a description of the accomplishment and your reasoning as to why it was the greatest Roman accomplishment. You may use a notecard. • Cast a narrator to present your explanation to the class. • Rehearse with you group in class. • Perform for the class at the end or the period or Tuesday, as time allows.

  4. Homework • Be ready to perform Freeze Frame • Read Chapter 2.1 • CH 2.1 Assessment Questions 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, & 4.
