  8. General • Thomas Everett (Dayshift) and John Pearce (Nightshift) are the Inclement Weather Coordinators of Facility Services. • All Inclement Weather Procedures for Facility Services are performed under the supervision of Crew Leaders.

  9. Supply Distributor Sand & Salt Buckets Will Be Filled And Placed In All Buildings By Mid-November

Procedures • The Assistant Vice Chancellor, Tony Schallert will determine hours of operation according to existing conditions, weather forecast, and in accordance with the University’s Adverse Weather Communications Procedures and Operational Guidelines for adverse and severe weather conditions. • When inclement weather occurs, Thomas Everett will notify crew leaders and they will notify the crew teams to report to work. • When evening operations determine the need for snow/ice control, John Pearce will coordinate assignments with the evening shift crew members. • Transportation to work will not be provided by • Facility Services Department

  11. Procedures Sink Building will serve as the location for the rescheduling of adverse weather job assignments.

  12. Storm Fighting Guidelines • Condition I: Accumulation of 1” of snow/ice or less will be taken care of by crew leaders and crew teams with sand and salt at building entrances and steps, extending out from the building entrances to a distance of 25 feet. Upon arrival at work (4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.) all crew leaders and crews will assemble at the key cabinets for instructions. • Condition II & III: Accumulation of 2” or more will be taken care of by crew leaders and crew teams with shovels, sand/salt on building entrances and steps, extending out from the building entrances to a distance of 25 feet. All crew leaders and crews will assemble at the key cabinet for instructions upon arrival. • Condition IV: “Icy Conditions” Freezing rain, snow that becomes packed and slippery. Sand/ice melt on building entrance, extending out from the building entrances to a distance of 25 feet, will be applied by crews and crew leaders. In the event of severe conditions crew leaders and supply distributor will be called in an hour earlier by approval of Asst. Vice Chancellor of Facilities Operations, Tony Schallert. • Local television will be used to determine the amount of accumulation of snow and/or ice.

Inclement Weather Information • All Building Environmental Services Technicians (B.E.S.T) Crew Leaders Crew Teams are expected to report to work during Inclement Weather. • All Inclement Weather Crew Leaders and Crew Teams will receive ice traction footwear prior to job assignments at designated locations.
