  2. IID2013 Travel Fellowships – Due Jan 3 The Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 2013 IID Meeting Travel Fellowships. The travel fellowships help offset the costs associated with attending the upcoming IID2013 Meeting, May 8-11, 2013, in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Through the generosity of the AAD's World Congress Fund Review Task Force, the Albert M. Kligman Charitable Foundation and the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), travel fellowships in the amount of $1,500 are available to those who meet the criteria set forth in the individual travel fellowship opportunities.  Links to the travel fellowship applications can be found below.  Please note: the application process has changed. You must now download the travel fellowship application, combine with the required materials, and then upload (as one PDF) the entire application into the abstract submission system via ScholarOne's Abstract Central.  The upload mechanism can be found in Step 4 of the Submission process. The Albert M. Kligman Travel Fellowship Awards:Established in 1995, the Albert M. Kligman Travel Fellowships are designed to support young investigators traveling to the SID's (IID) Annual Meeting to present scientific work.  IID2013 World Congress Travel Fellowship Awards:In partnership with the American Academy of Dermatology's (AAD) World Congress Fund Review Task Force, the SID will offer up to 20 awards in the amount of up to $1,500 each to attend the IID2013 Meeting in May 2013.  IID2013 Travel Fellowship Awards:Through the generosity of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), the SID will be providing travel awards in the amount of up to $1,500 to support travel to the IID2013 Meeting in May 2013.  Should you have any questions regarding the fellowships and criteria, please email Jim Rumsey in the SID office at rumsey@sidnet.org. Biomedical Research Upcoming Funding Opportunity: Research Day Seed Grants – RFA Letters of Intent Due: Tuesday, Jan 15, 2013 All members of the BWH research community with a rank of Instructor and above are invited to apply for seed grants to support projects consistent with the BWH Research Day themes. Projects must be scientifically meritorious and aligned with one or more of the following strategic themes: Aging, Cancer, Cardiovascular, Health Disparities/Sex differences in Chronic Diseases, Health Outcomes/PCOR, Inflammation, Nursing research, Obesity, Personalized Medicine, Targeted Therapeutics. Biomedical Research Upcoming Funding Opportunity: BRI/ORC MicroGrants: pilot program Application accepted on a rolling basis through March 2013 Post-docs, clinical fellows and junior faculty (ranking assistant professor or below) in the BWH research community are invited to apply. Individuals may only be the recipient of one microgrant in this pilot phase. Applicants must apply in advance of the event requiring support and may not receive support for events that have already occurred. Martin Conference Center, HMS The BWH Institute for the Neurosciences and BRI Neurosciences Research Center will hold its first of a series of mini-retreats to foster the initiation of interdisciplinary projects by members of the basic, clinical, and translational neuroscience community at BWH. This retreat is open to investigators whose work relates to the nervous system. For this first retreat, a combination of longer talks outlining the scope of BWH research and shorter talks highlighting exciting examples of ongoing research will showcase the work of BWH investigators in three thematic areas: Aging, Neuroinflammation and Sex Differences in the Brain.
