  1. Camp Kaitawa By Megan Kerr

  2. Monday We all arrived safe and sound. Oh my gosh we were finally at Camp Kaitawa. We all unpacked and headed off for an awesome and curious walk. First down, down, down to the power station and what an awesome sight that was. Second was the beautiful, sparking, crystal clear Green Lake, that was so calm but icy cold. The pipeline, what a killer ! Man O man did my legs hurt. Up and up to Camp Kaitawa. YES! SPAGHETTI BOLOGNAISE for tea, my favourite. WHAT A PHENOMINAL DAY MONDAY WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Tuesday WOW, that Ngamoko walk was tough. We started off with a cracking pace but then got slower. There was a Rata tree that was around 800-1000 years old and so huge, times a huge x MILLION. We kept stopping for toilet breaks, drinks and snacks. We had lunch right at the top and then walked back down. There were a lot of injuries along the way for e.g. Alysia sprained her knee. To be honest I was glad to be back at the Camp side and had a record breaking shower. This was tiring but a great challenge for all of us.

  4. Wednesday What an amazing sight the Papakorito falls were! The water just never stopped falling. Then after that we had another big walk to a Lake and had our lunch. When we got back to the camp we got into groups and did the Confidence Course that was fun. I had a nice relaxing day on Wednesday.

  5. Thursday Caving, caving, caving, what an awesome experience it was. I had brought my Dad’s old head lamp. I loved caving because we got dirty and muddy. After caving we drove to the Redoubt to have lunch, play some rugby and do a pyramid. Then when we got back to camp we got ready for the cookout. It was so much fun. My group cooked NACHOS and roasted some YUMMY MARSHMALLOWS. Then back to bed. I should go on Junior Master Chief!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Friday Time to pack, we were going to leave Camp Kaitawa. Mrs Johnson took us for a game of bull rush while the parents cleaned up. It was time to leave the Camp. We stopped in Wairoa for lunch. Then FINALLY arrived back at school. It was a one in a life time experience and I really enjoyed it THE BEST CAMP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
