Funding • While there are not any dedicated funds directly from the counties and towns pertaining to behavioral heath, valued contributions do exist. • Resources include: • Fifth Judicial District Court: Drug Court Nye County Juvenile ProbationOffice • Nye & Esmeralda County Sheriffs Offices • Nye & Esmeralda County School Districts • Nye & Esmeralda Counties • Towns

Fifth Judicial District Court • Drug Court: • An alcohol and drug prevention intervention program for individuals developed to channel chemically dependent, non-violent individuals into substance abuse treatment services. • Numbers served in 2018: • 71 adults were enrolled and 94 open cases existed as of 12/31/2018 (Federal and local funding)

Fifth Judicial District Court • Nye County Juvenile Probation: • The Juvenile Probation Office receives an average of 400 referrals annually generated by law enforcement, schools, and community outreach. Intervention as early as possible is initiated whenever possible to enhance successful outcomes for youth. The Juvenile Probation Office serves youth from Nye and Esmeralda Counties. • Community Based Involvement: NyECC Coalition Suicide Awareness Team

  10. Sheriffs’ Offices • Personnel have prioritized training: • Mental Health First Aid and safeTALK • Prescription Drug Conferences • DITEP Training • Community Based Involvement: • HOPE Committee • Suicide Awareness Team • Coalition Meetings • Drug Take-Back Day

School Districts • Nye County School District Safe Schools Professionals • School-based mental health services: • Tier I, II, III services • Psycho-social assessments • Signs of Suicide • Personnel and Student Education, Screenings, and Interviews • Community Referrals • 384 students receive school-based mental health services per month

  12. School Districts • Esmeralda School District: • Smallest school district in Nevada. • 90 students and seven teachers. • Grades nine through twelve attend Tonopah High School (Nye County School District).

Counties • Support local involvement in the Multi- • Disciplinary Team in Tonopah: • Team is led by Nevada State Division of Child and Family Servicesbut involves several county agencies as partners. • Confidential cases pertaining to behavioral health issues are discussed with a focus upon solution-based recommendations.

  14. Towns • Pahrump makes up over 80% of the population • within Nye and Esmeralda Counties. • 2012: • Pahrump citizens voted to disband the Town Board form of government in favor of becoming an advisory under the County Commissioners. Pahrump is unincorporated.
