Tyler B-52 - Boeing Stratofortress Information • It’s a strategic jet powered bomber • Invented in 1955 • 159 Feet Long • It is a long range, subsonic plane Vietnam • These giant planes were used to “carpet bomb” strips of land in Vietnam. • 30 were lost in total during the war • They did limited damage because Vietnam Troops would hide underground and the bombs would not affect them

Tyler Napalm Information • Gelling agent • Generally mixed with petroleum • Mostly used as an incendiary device • Used for the first time July 17, 1944 Vietnam • Americans used a lot of Napalm bombs in the Vietnam War • They helped clear out the Vietnamese from their hiding places near trees and bushes • It also was effective in holding back attackers, creating a line of napalm between the Americans and Vietnamese http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBFBZb-B3Vo

Boeing CH-47 Chinook • First introduction in 1962 • Used for dropping off large amounts of supplies and ammunition, aircraft recovery and transporting wounded. • Can carry 33-55 troops • Played a very important role in Vietnam because of the large quantities of supplies it could carry Leif Rasmussen
