  5. Soil The dirt and other ground matter in an area.

  6. Wind Different areas on earth have different types of winds that blow. Use the following maps to help you decide what types of wind your biome has. Find the general latitudes of your biome and match them up with the wind maps.

  7. Water • Required by all parts of the ecosystem. • Comes from bodies of water (lakes, rivers, streams, oceans) and also from precipitation.

  8. Light Light is necessary for most plants and animals to survive. Each biome has different amounts of light, and different organisms that use the light that is present.
