  1. VisiMix Data Base Management VisiMix Ltd, PO Box 45170, Jerusalem, 91450, Israel Tel: 972 - 2 - 5870123 Fax: 972 - 2 - 5870206 E-mail: mosheb@visimix.com

  2. Mission Statement VisiMixis a unique software enabling chemical engineers, process engineers and R&D personnel to visualize mixing processes – scaling up and scaling down - via a simple, user friendly interface. Our products allow significant savings in time and costs by drastically reducing the need for trial-and-error. They have been successfully adopted by hundreds of companies.

  3. Objectives: DataBase and Language It is possible, with the use of VisiMix and VisiXcel,to build a common DataBase that combines equipment data and process characteristics by simulation. This interaction allows you to create a relevant electronic DataBase of your equipment and your processes. Departments in the company can communicate information to the same DataBase and speak the same Language. As a result, the Transfer Process from development to production or from site to site in your company becomes more documented, professional and organized.

  4. Motivation • The need for maximizing efficiency of a mixing process by compiling all its elements into a common database. • The need for better understanding between the mixing process and its impact on the entire process and a simple solution to achieve this • The need to create a common language within the company in order to achieve better communication with regards to these processes.

  5. Integration of DataBase and Language How does it work? Equipment Data VisiXcel VisiMix Create Project for Equipment Data Excel File Data Equipment DataBase New Process VisiXcel VisiMix Process Knowledge DataBase Create Project for Process Excel File Data

  6. Common Language Development Chemist Equipment “Database” Process Knowledge “Database” Designing Engineer Pilot Engineer Production Engineer QA Common Language

  7. VisiXcel Series: VisiXcel-DB With VisiMix-VisiXcel you can:   - Transform a VisiMix report (*.html file) into standard Excel file (*.xls file).   - Import data directly from report files (*html) into the Excel tables, and define content and structure of these tables. - Perform sensitivity analysis of the parameters of the project. • VisiMix VisiXcel-DB you can now: •  Build a Database of mixing tanks and reactors. • Build a Database of projects – for processes. • Correlate between plant equipment nomenclature to VisiMix database of mixing tanks and reactors in VisiMix Project Database. . • Easily access design data of the mixing tanks, process parameters and corresponding results of VisiMix modeling. •  Store and arrange your results in VisiMix  VisiXcel-DB according to the reactor nomenclature. • Easily access your recalculations from the database of reactors and projects.

  8. Results The Results: 1. An Equipment and Process Knowledge Database 2. A Common Language between departments

  9. Conclusion Data base allows you to manage your equipment and projects together with a relevant parameters Common language for all the company involves in the new process running Present a wide view and platform for a well QbD (quality by Design) study.

  12. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment

  13. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment Return to Excel and click VisiXcel>Build Report Find the directory VisiMix Turb and open the VisiMix report Anchor-30.htm

  14. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment Mark the parameters for transfer to the Projects list and click Submit Report. The selected parameters, and also names of the Report and Project will be transferred to the Excel file

  15. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment In order to save the information in the Project list and Equipment database, select Add project to database in VisiXcel sub-menu .

  16. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment In the arriving card press Select reactor.

  17. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment With this action we open the Database of Reactors. To start with, it contains data for some non-existing reactor that serves as example for filling the tables. In order to include our project Anchor_30 and the corresponding reactor R 400 in database, click Add) and enter the reactor data into the table (Figure 16).

  18. Example First Step – Adding a reactor characterization in data base equipment After filling the table, confirm the input by clicking Save. As can be seen, the reactor R 400 is added to database.

  19. Summary • Save per project • Save during development

  20. Thank you for your attention
