  2. There are three branches of Government : • Legislative • Executive • Judicial Three Branches of Government

  3. The Legislative Branch is made up of two houses of Congress: The Senate and the House of Representatives. Their most important job is creating laws. These laws are discussed and voted in Congress. The Legislative Branch

  4. The head of the Executive Branch is the President. The President decides laws and makes them official. This branch also includes the Vice President and other officials, including members of the cabinet. The cabinet is made up of the heads fifteen major departments of the government. Executive Branch

The Secretary of the Treasury • The Secretary of the State • The Secretary of Defense • The Attorney General ( Justice Department) • The Secretary of Interior • The Secretary of Agriculture • The Secretary of Commerce • The Secretary of Labor • The Secretary of Heath and Human Services • The Secretary of Homeland Security • The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development • The Secretary of Transportation • The Secretary of Education • The Secretary of Energy • The Secretary of Veterans‘ Affairs Members of the Cabinet

  6. This branch oversees the court system of the U.S. In court cases, the Judicial Branch explains the Constitution. The head of this branch is Supreme Court. Unlike criminal court, it decides if something is constitutional or unconstitutional. In this branch, there are nine judges: eight associate judges and one chief judge. Judicial Branch
