Past • shows an action that was completed in the past • Add –ed • Tom scored a run in the baseball game.
Future • shows an action that will occur in the future • use helping verbs will or shall with a verb • I will attend the birthday party.
3 Progressive Tenses • shows an action or condition that is in progress • present progressive • past progressive • future progressive
Present Progressive • use helping verbs such as is, am, are, etc. • add –ing to the verb • Matt is eating an ice cream cone.
Past Progressive • use helping verbs such as was and were • add –ing to the verb • I was fishing with my brother.
Future Progressive • use “will be” or “shall be” • add –ing to the verb • Adam will be giving flowers to his mother on Valentine’s Day.
