  1. Success = Planning for a Successful Spring Semester

  2. "Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass." • You cannot just sit around day after day dreaming about it - you must get up and hustle. • To act is to work. • As you work, are you enthusiastic or lethargic? Do others see the joy in your working or the drudgery?

  3. Quick-Write • Think about you – last semester. • Is looking at the past an important step in planning for the future? • What can you learn from the fall semester to help you have a better spring semester? • FACT: We all have room for improvement. • FACT: We all have weaknesses. • FACT: We all have bad habits. • FACT: We all have a choice to make every day. Do we avoid and ignore what we know we could do better, OR do we make the conscious decision to “do better” to “be better”?

  4. Quick-Write As you “Quick-Write” considering the following areas: • Time Management • Work Ethic • Academic Integrity • Attentiveness / Focus • Priorities • Balance: Personal vs. School • Learning vs. Grades • Motivation • Maturity / Behavior • Self-Discipline

  5. Out with the old . . . • Time Management • Work Ethic • Academic Integrity • Attentiveness / Focus • Priorities • Balance: Personal vs. School • Learning vs. Grades • Motivation • Maturity / Behavior • Self-Discipline

  6. Out with the old . . . What are the bad habits, the weaknesses, the “things” you want to work to improve this semester? Write them down.

  7. Engage in planning. Before you begin to do anything, make plans. It has often been said that those who fail to plan, plan to fail.

  8. Enlist the necessary resources. If you are not equipped to accomplish your goal alone, seek help.

  9. Exert the required effort with energy and enthusiasm. Never move listlessly toward your goal.

  10. Expect a miracle. Claim your victories.

  11. Endure to the end. No matter what happens, never give up.
