We partner with educational organizations worldwide to provide computer-adaptive assessments, professional development, and research services. We are passionate about our mission: Partnering to help all kids learn®. • School Districts: nearly 1/3 of • American districts use MAP • All 50 States • 5 million students take MAP • Assessments annually • 300+ Partners in 117 countries

MAP Assessment in Nebraska In 2007, 28 school districts Today: 180 Partner Schools/Districts Assess 88,000 students Close to 30% of Nebraska students Items Aligned to Nebraska Standards & Benchmarks Cut Pt. Alignment with NeSA Approved for NRT reporting Active NWEA Member Group (meets twice a year)

What is the MAP Assessment? • “Measures of Academic Progress” (MAP) • Computer Adaptive Assessments (reading, math, language & science) • Gives an “instructional level” score (RIT Score) • Uses for: • Instructional Decision-making • Monitor Academic Growth • Setting Goals • Engaging Students • Differentiated Instruction

Partnerships Started • Presented MAP Intro Session to ESU 1, 8, 17 • Most schools adopted MAP assessments in 2009 • Formed “Fiscal Agent” Consortia with each ESU • Benefit to small schools • Bill the ESU for testing services • Allows NWEA to treat them as a district • Savings on Professional Development • ESUs providing local support

Engaging Students in the Assessment Process: How did we get our students on board? • All students in grades 3-11 were taught about MAP tests and how to interpret their results • Kids in grades 3-8 participate in student-led conferences. They were each in charge of explaining their testing results to their parents. THEY DID GREAT!!! • DATA CARDS 
