PPGES Timeline • May 2013 – Identify principal participant with web collector • June 2013 – Training for PPGES begins via PD 360 • July 2013 – KLA kick-off with superintendents invited • Aug-Sept 2013 – Superintendent and principal collaborate/develop Professional Growth Plan (PGP) and Student Growth Goals (SGG) + Val-Ed 360 completed by superintendent, principal and teachers • Oct/Nov 2013 – School/site visit by superintendent • Dec 2013/Jan 2014 – Mid-year review • March 2014 – School/site visit by superintendent + Val-Ed 360 completed by superintendent, principal and teachers • April/May 2014 – Summative conference

Recommendations Approved by SAC • KASA is to engage KASS and KSBA in the development work of a unified set of superintendent standards and evaluation procedures and the three organizations are to work together to finalize the superintendent effectiveness system. • By December 2013, local boards and superintendents are to work together to incorporate the three delivery artifacts into their current superintendent evaluation process and document a discussion of the artifacts in local board minutes. • By December 2014, local boards are to adopt the new superintendent effectiveness system or a locally developed system meeting the same criteria that will become effective in the 2015-16 school year.
