  3. Matthew 5:5 (ESV) 5“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 11:28–30 (ESV) 28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Quiet Strength

  4. Psalm 37:7–11 (ESV) 7Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 8Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. 9For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. 10In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there. 11But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace. Quiet Strength

  5. Inner Power • Being meek starts with our relationship with God, understanding that we must be submissive to His greater power. • Then meek works itself out in our weaknesses, where God shows His powerful strength through us. • We don’t need to seize power by force like the world, because the Kingdom of God already has the power.

  6. Kingdom Power • Becoming meek means that we have God’s power residing in us, but that we do not operate in the ambition of the kingdoms of this world. • Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. Everything about the kind of power God gives and the way it is “wielded” is different.

  7. Key of the Kingdom • God’s power works its way through us differently, and though we are “overpowered” here by Satan’s forces, we will rule with Christ and inherit this earth. • To be meek, we don’t just lie down and get walked over. We stand with the power of God and watch Him work His power through us. We fight the fight that matters.
