Instructions • This is a simple quiz and the answers are all known to all of you • For the sake of convenience, we are focussing on only five universes • Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), and The Hunger Games • 15 questions, 3 per universe, in random order • Movies and Books have been given equal weight • Simple questions, simple answers – Enjoy!!!

  3. Why the date? • Harry Potter was born on 31 July, 1980. There’s a special reason why J K Rowling chose this date. Give me the reason?

  4. Answer • J K Rowling was herself born on 31 July, 1965.

  5. Whose guest appearances? • The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring • Portrayed as Albert Dreary, a man eating a carrot at the village of Bree • The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers • portrayed as a Rohan Soldier throwing a spear towards the Uruk-hai who were assaulting the Fortress at Helm's Deep • The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King • portrayed as one of the Corsairs of Umbar briefly seen walking on deck. In the extended edition, the character gets accidentally shot by Legolas as a "warning" shot. He also played as the arm of Sam when facing Shelob.

Which lovable character? • “The Adventures of X” is a collection of poetry by JRR Tolkien published in 1962 that have some of the poems featured in the Middle Earth universe. • The book contains three poems from LOTR: The Man in the Moon stayed up too late, The Stone Troll, and Oliphaunt. • The first poem of the book is the same as the title of the book, The Adventures of X, and tells about this much loved character from the LOTR series who incidentally has been left out of the movies.

  13. Which bird? • In its universe, XY was a bird created by the mating of two other birds. • The male is fictional and belongs to the universe and is mutated, created in labs to spy on enemies and rebels. • The female is real and is famous for mimicking the songs and sound of other birds, insects, and amphibians, often in rapid succession. • The names of both parents are portmanteaus (e.g. coffee-table) as is XY. • The male name is AY and the female name is XB, giving us XY. • Convoluted? Give me XY only.

He demanded something from the Athenians for Minotaur that was to become one of the inspirations for “The Hunger Games.” • What did he demand?
