  18. The Challenge With your shoulder partner, discuss questions 1-7 on page 314of your text. You may look back in your text if you need to. When you're finished begin thinking about the following questions. What do the main character’s experiences in the story show about the challenges of growing up. Who is/are the main character or characters? Compare the main characters challenges to the challenges you face growing up. What problem does the main character have? What does the main character learn about him/herself in the story?
