  1. Facebook to Launch Instagram for Kids According to the reports, Facebook is working to build a newer version of Instagram. This new version will be primarily for the kids who are up to the age of 13. According to the current Instagram norms, you cannot create an account if you are below 13.

  2. The company has announced that they will bring a parent-controlled experience on Instagram. Facebook has also recently declared some new features on Instagram. These features will safeguard teenagers' privacy. However, Facebook is getting mixed responses from people on this. Some of the users are criticizing it because of the inclusion of kids. People are claiming that Facebook is taking these steps to increase its user base. However, this is not something new from Facebook. Like these upcoming features on Instagram, Facebook had also announced the Facebook messanger for kids in 2017. At that time, Facebook claimed that this new messenger would be for kids who want to connect with their families and friends. Moreover, it was duly approved by their parents. This Facebook messenger for kids does not require a separate account. However, it is like an extension of their parents' Facebook messenger. In that way, parents have complete control over the chatting options. For example, they can decide who can chat with their kids and who cannot.

  3. Then also, Facebook faced a lot of criticism from many child-development experts. They discouraged the company from the inclusion of kids on social media. However, Facebook claimed an increasing demand from kids to have social media accounts to connect with friends. Moreover, there are not many social media platforms for kids, even if they want to use them under their parents' supervision. That is why Facebook has started working on providing a few option where kids can use social media. Like the messanger kids, this new Instagram version will be suitable for kids. Moreover, the parents would be able to control their children's accounts. When Facebook had launched the messenger for kids, they had claimed that they would not collect any data from the children's accounts. Moreover, they would also not show any ads to the children. Therefore, the users can expect the same features in this new Instagram version. There are many positive responses also from Instagram users. They also believe that this newer version will be kids friendly. Moreover, it will suffice children's needs, as they desperately want something to connect with their friends on social media.
