  2. The Vista by Chef Denis, the in house contemporary fine-dining restaurant at Mount Averno Luxury Resorts Caledon, specializes in traditional Canadian cuisine with a delicious French twist.

  3. Denis Jaricot Executive Chef French-born Chef Denis has worked his culinary magic in renowned restaurants throughout Europe, North America, and the Caribbean. For The Vista, Chef Denis has redefined classic Canadian cuisine with modern French influences and a focus on fresh, seasonal, local ingredients and global spices.

  4. 7 Traditional Canadian Foods You Must Not Miss Well, we all crave to try poutine, but there are many varieties of dishes you must try out in Canada. Each Canadian dish serves a plate of amazingly epic food and not just the poutine. From poutine to centuries-old tasty soups, smoky meat, to unmissable desserts, here are 7 Traditional Canadian Foods that are truly iconic in their own way.

  5. Poutine Among a few of the world-renowned Canadian dishes, poutine is a glorious one. The oh-so-delectable combination of crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds and rich peppery gravy makes this dream meal so popular around the world. This classic Canadian cuisine with French touch is one of its kind, but when added toppings like bacon, pork or smoky meat, it really hits the taste palate differently. This is why Poutine has become one such culinary gem of French Canadian that every renowned restaurant wants to keep on the menu all over the world.

  6. Canadian Bacon In several countries, what is served as Peameal Bacon, the Canadian cuisine branded it as the Canadian Bacon with a twist. In contrast to the traditional bacon that uses the belly portion of the pig, Canadian bacon is a dish prepared using thin pork loin. This piece of bacon is then preserved in salt and rolled into cornmeal to enhance its flavors. Earlier it was all rolled into the yellow peas as a preservation step. However, this has been swapped with cornmeal over the years.

  7. Canadian Style Pizza Pizza is a popular go-to food that almost everyone wants to order from the menu. Canadian-style pizza is quite different from the dough and fried American-style pizza. Canadian-style includes a thin-crust pizza with a large variety of creatively different toppings. Where there is Cronenberg Crash flavored pizza including tandoori tofu, cilantro pesto, peanuts, mango and red pepper, Wayne Gretzky flavored pizza has Italian salami, caramelized onions, flecks and chorizo, chili flakes, hot peppers along with three different types of cheese including mozzarella, cheddar and feta cheese. In addition, maple syrup is there as a complementary topping to pour on them.

  8. Butter tarts Butter Tarts are one of the most simple yet delicious items Canadian cuisine offers. They are a sweet preparation of crispy pastry shells filled with eggs, sugar and butter.

  9. Bloody Caesar Perhaps the national cocktail of Canada is Bloody Caesar. Caesar is a blend of vodka and clamato juice spiced up with Worcestershire and Clamato juice. Do you know what makes it truly Canadian? Well, the addition of Bloody Mary makes this cocktail an absolute companion of brunch.

  10. Montreal-style Bagels When it comes to naming one unsung winning food from the Canadian dishes, Montreal-style bagels are definitely one of them. Montreal bagels are a thinner, denser and sweeter treat that goes into the traditional wood fire oven to get baked. These traditional Canadian Montreal-style bagels are quite different from their New York City counterparts and often get garnished with sesame or poppy seeds for crunch.

  11. Montreal-style Smoked Meat Another Montreal-style delicacy is the Smoky meat which is quite similar in taste to Pastrami. This meaty dish is the heavenly preparation of beef briskly salt, which goes on for a week-long cure with an assortment of spices. Later it gets all smoked and simmered to prepare the divine perfection. Montreal's smoked meat is a great accompaniment to a rye bread sandwich coated with tangy flavored yellow mustard. Besides, it is also used as a topping for the world-famous poutine. If you want to understand the flavors of it, try Montreal's smoked meat yourself.
