  1. Realistic Ways To Save Money On Your Wedding If there is one that word that can strike fear into the heart of any bride it’s ‘budget’. No matter whether your budget is large or small, sticking to it is always going to prove a headache. Whether you are working with a smaller budget or simply wanting to save money in some areas so you can go wild in others, we all like a little more bang for our buck. It’s a fact, weddings are expensive so today we are sharing some of our favourite money saving tips which are totally realistic and don’t actually require that much effort. With a little bit of imagination, you can cut costs without anyone missing what is missing! Shop local– choosing local suppliers will help you avoid delivery costs, travel expenses for them to attend on the day and for you to visit them to make arrangements. Avoid a Saturday–Choose an off-peak day. A weekday wedding could save you thousands on the venue and food and beverage minimums are lower, which is great for smaller parties. Think seasonal– likewise an off-season wedding can save your pennies for splurges in other areas. Fizz alternatives– consider alternatives to the traditional fizz for your celebrations. A winter wedding is a fab setting for mulled wine or warm cider and summer is perfect for Pimms. All much cheaper alternatives. Drop the plus ones– address invitations to exactly who is invited and make it clear that there are no plus ones.

  2. Use more greenery than flowers–Don’t underestimate the beauty of foliage. It’s inexpensive and adds a lot of size and texture to arrangements. Bulk out your displays, look rustic and chic and save money at the same time. Think about your bar tab–If you’re covering the bar bill, there are some great tricks to keep the costs down such as having a limited menu or restricted opening times. Terminate Transportation Costs– Host your ceremony and reception at the same venue or at two places within walking distance of each other. You’ll eliminate the need for transportation. Explore wedding cake alternatives– Cakes can be one of the biggest ticket items at a wedding if you buy it from a bakery. But there are so many other creative (and delicious) options. If you want to stick to the cake idea, several smaller cakes are much cheaper than one larger cake Don’t Count on Everyone Having the Late Night Munchies– Order late-night snacks for only 70 percent of your head count. Some guests may leave early, and others won’t want to eat. Make a donation instead of favours– let your guests know that you are making a donation to charity instead of giving out favours. You don’t have to disclose how much and it can be as much or as little as you can afford. Your money can make a difference to a cause that’s close to your heart rather than going on take home gifts that often don’t even get taken home at all!
