Department for Communities and Local Government • Management and policy responsibilities include: • Building regulations for England (including technical requirements and supporting guidance) • Review of building standards • UK lead on Construction Products Regulation • Member State duties, including Notifying Authority, market surveillance policy, TABs and Product Contact Point • Relevant EU representation for UK, including Standing Committee on Construction and Delegated Acts • UK network (DAs, HA, producers, notified bodies, NSB, etc)

  5. Construction Products Regulation Notified Bodies: • Duties laid down in CPR • DCLG is notifying authority • Accreditation by UKAS • Designated on NANDO by DCLG • DCLG has published guidance note on process • Similar approach for TABs

Candidate body sends application to UKAS UKAS accreditation, in line with EA guidelines • Candidate Body applies to notifying authority (DCLG) with: • UKAS accreditation certificate, schedule and report • systems, activities & products • insurance information Candidate body sends advance notice to notifying authority (DCLG) Monitoring, including UKAS annual surveillance DCLG (SoS) decision DCLG sends designation letter, with conditions DCLG notifies EC and other MS Candidate body writes accepting conditions 2 weeks Designation UK designation process overview
