  3. Academic Probation • Cumulative grade point average (G.P.A.) less than 2.00 • After attempting 12 or more units • Dismissal/GPA less than 1.75 in 3 consecutive semesters • Affects your Financial Aid

  4. Progress Probation • 50% or more of all classes not completed after attempting 12 or more units • Includes W, I, and/or NP • Dismissal-Exceeds 50% for 3 consecutive semesters 1/2

  6. How To Read Your Own Transcript • Units Attempted • Units Completed • G.P.A. per semester • Grade Points • Cumulative GPA Total

How to be removed from Probation Status • Repeat courses with D or F grades and petition for Academic Renewal • Petition for Academic Renewal without course repetition • Limit units per semester • Utilize free tutoring services • Enroll in Counseling 100/116 • Attend Undecided Major Workshop • Follow up counseling appointment • Study skills workshops and classes

  10. Transcripts From Other Institutions If you attended another college, you need to clean up those transcripts for SAC graduation and transfer purposes. This could come back and affect your transfer admissions acceptance and SAC graduation.

  11. Withdraw Date Deadline for Fall 2011 Semester “REMINDER” • Last date to drop a 16 week semester class and not receive a “W” is September 5, 2011. • Last date to drop a 16 week semester class with a “W” grade is November 13, 2011.

  12. Steps to re-enroll for Fall 2011 • Complete the Academic Probation Release form and return it to counselor after the workshop.

In Conclusion • Review your transcripts • List possible Fall 2011 classes on the Proposed Student Program form. • Include classes with poor grades as possible repeats for Fall 2011. • List number of units to be taken in Fall 2011. • Meet with a counselor. • Return registration Probation Release form to Counselor
