  1. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 Gather and staple all warm ups from November 1-January 26. I should have from Dec. 9 that you turned in at interim. Put them in the tub at the front of the room. Reflection: (first warm-up for 3rd 9 weeks) This week we are thinking about similar yet different things. Draw a dress/suit/shoes (your pick) for you and the same item for your grandma/grandpa.

  2. Monday, February 2, 2009 Reflection: Choose any object, anything at all. Draw it THREE times as differently as can. Do not copy the examples on the slide.

  4. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 Reflection: Still thinking about style… Draw your favorite cartoon character using 2 styles. You can draw them with 2 different emotions, two different types of clothes, but really think about the difference as if different artists drew them.

  5. Thursday, February 5, 2009 Reflection: Choose an object other than a person , and draw it once happy and once angry, but do not give it a face and make it a cartoon. Thursday’s Schedule 1st Period – Normal 2nd Period – Normal 3rd Period - GRASP Please note that we have art shows/competitions coming up in March, April, and May.   7. Upcoming Art Show Seaford School District Arts Festival 2009 20 Student artworks will be JUDGED and displayed on May 14, 2009

  8. Upcoming Art Show Family Awareness & Appreciation Night When? Friday, March 13, 2009 Where? Seaford High School Time? 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Artwork will be on display in the lobby for everyone attending Family Night. If you would like your artwork to be on display, please give it to Mrs. Paternoster by March 9.

  10. Monday, February 9, 2009 Reflection: "Related Phrase" Illustrate a two-word phrase using drawings of objects related to its meaning. Examples:--- tool shed --- race car --- field goal --- --- wild cat ------- text book --- bike path ---snow man --- high jump --- hot dog ------- mind meld --- chemistry lab -------- musical instrument ---- Fill up the space! Add color! Shade for 3-D effects! Use your imagination. Originality will give you more points. Remember to center by placing the middle letters in the middle of the lines Agenda: Draw your object using words and/or letters.

Seaford Mural Choose your audience: young people, old people, normal people, tourists Choose your theme: agriculture, nature, tourism/highlighting Seaford’s charm, history, etc… Choose 3 to 5 main subjects from yesterday’s list, use these subjects to begin your mural by making them the largest

Friday, February 20, 2009 Reflection: Impressionist artists were people who made paintings that caught the Impression of the subject as if you just looked at it for second similar to when you take picture with a camera. You will now choose an area in the room to catch a glimpse of. Now, look at the area very quickly, and draw what you remember. DO NOT LOOK BACK TO GET MORE DETAILS. Examples: Do you see a book laying out of place on the book case? Did you see someone with a strange expression on their face? Did you see someone in a strange position because they were moving?
