    15. 1 Corinthians 1:4–5 (NLT) 4 I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you, now that you belong to Christ Jesus.5 Through him, God has enriched your church in every way…7so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    16. 1 Corinthians 14:20 (NLT) 20 Dear brothers and sisters, don’t be childish in your understanding of these things. Be innocent as babies when it comes to evil, but be mature in understanding matters of this kind.

    17. 1 Cor 14:21–22 (NLT) 21 It is written in the Scriptures:“I will speak to my own people through strange languages and through the lips of foreigners. But even then, they will not listen to me,” says the Lord.22 So you see that speaking in tongues is a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers.

    18. 1 Cor 14:21–22 (NLT) 21 It is written in the Scriptures:“I will speak to my own people through strange languages and through the lips of foreigners. But even then, they will not listen to me,” says the Lord.22 So you see that speaking in tongues is a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers.

    19. 1 Corinthians 14:23 (NLT) 23 Even so, if unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your church meeting and hear everyone speaking in an unknown language, they will think you are crazy.

    20. 1 Cor 14:24–25 (NLT) 24 if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say.25 As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.”

    21. 1 Cor 14:24–25 (NLT) 24 if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say.25 As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.”

    22. Lake Samm Testimony You did a series late ’08 that addressed tongues, living by the spirit, etc. Many of the new people that come to Lake Samm come from Evangelical/Fundamental churches or have no church background whatsoever. I believe many if not all of these would have “run for the hills” if you went into the gifts without having laid the proper foundations. I for one would have definitely been in that camp. I am no longer in that camp and now pray that others make this transition. The “growth” we’ve experienced has been phenomenal over the past year.  You should also know that early in her walk my wife was “pressured” to use the “gifts” by another group which took her years to overcome.

    23. Lake Samm Testimony In talking with my wife this morning about the email I sent, we realized how many people we know at Lake Samm that were in the “run for the hills” camp who are not now. In fact, every one of the people who were in that camp when we first started are now moving in the Spirit.

    24. “Earnestly desire” to move in the gifts of the Spirit (I Cor 14:39)
