  3. The Tucks had just told Winnie that they were immortal. The Tucks all talked at once as if they were little kids, interrupting one another frequently. Winnie had finally had friends, acquaintances, people she could talk to besides her family. Winnie ran away after all. Chapter 8

  4. Chapter 9 The sun was about to set, but Winnie had been exhausted long before then. Miles had carried her some of the way. Winnie went with Mae, Miles, and Jesse and finally met up with Angus. The Tucks took Winnie back to her cottage.

  5. Chapter 10 Mae was showing Winnie around the house, and Winnie was comparing their house to her cottage. Winnie was thinking that the Tucks house was much more plain then her cottage.

  6. Chapter 11 The Tucks and Winnie had dinner, including flapjacks, bacon, bread, and apple sauce. Winnie thought they were criminals. They had kidnapped her right out off her own wood.

  7. Chapter 12 They went out on they lake on row boat. Winnie almost jumped when the frog croaked. They drifted silently.

  8. Chapter 13 The man in the yellow suit went to a Foster’s house. He said he said he had some news about the missing child Winnie.

  9. Chapter 14 The thief had to be someone with a special reason to steel the horse. The Tucks went to bed before they could discover who stole the horse. Winnie couldn’t get to sleep at first. She was thinking about how her dad was looking for her. Jesse wants Winnie to drink the water when she is 17.

  10. Chapter 15 The man in the yellow suit went to the fosters’ at night and he told him he knew where their daughter was. He said he would make a trade for the fosters woods to take them to the daughter.He said that he would go alone.

  11. Chapter 16 The man in the yellow suit got the constable and told him the fosters girl was. The constable wanted him to take him to the Tucks. The constable complained about how long the journey was. The man in the yellow suit said that he would ride ahead. The constable couldn’t ride with him because his horse was to weak .

  12. Chapter 17 Miles and Winnie went to catch fish for breakfast. Out on the boat Miles rowed without a single splash. Winnie thought that today was the day that the Tuck’s were going to take Winnie home. Miles was talking about the mosquitoes if the drank the water the they wouldn’t die and they would keep on having babies.

  13. Chapter 18 The Tuck’s and Winnie ate flapjacks again because the have not caught any fish. Mae said it was lie having a party for breakfast because Winnie was there. The man in the yellow suit knocked on the Tuck’s door.

  14. Chapter 19 The man in the yellow suit said that he had come to take Winnie home. The man in the yellow suit grandma was Miles former wife Anna. Anna told the man in the yellow suit about the Tuck’s. The man in the yellow suit told the Tuck’s about his plan to sell the water. Mae hit the man with stock of the shot gun as the Tree-Gap constable ran in.

  15. The constable said the man in the yellow suit wasn’t dead. The constable said he was going to take Mea and lock her up, and take Winnie home. Miles told Mae they were going to gat her out. The constable said ma was going to the gallows if the man in the yellow suit died. Chapter 20

  16. Chapter 21 The fosters did not believe that Winnie ran away freely. Her grand mother said it was the elves. Winnie told her family what had happened to the man in the yellow suit and they said if he dies the fosters get the woods back. There was charges because there was no kidnapping.

  17. Chapter 22 Winnie saw the toad that she had seen before the kidnapping. Winnie and her grandmother went across the road t give the toad some water. As Winnie grandmother left Jesse showed up to see Winnie Jesse told Winnie Miles has gotten a plan t set Mae free. They were going to take Mae’s window frame straight out of the wall. They were planning on going at mid-night that night.

  18. Chapter 23 The sky clouded up like it was going to rain. Everyone in the Foster house went to bed early. Winnie laid awake and waited for midnight. She fell asleep but woke up 5 minutes to midnight.

  19. Winnie made her escape out of the house. Winnie met Jesse on the path. They met Tuck at the jail house. The switched Mae with Winnie. Winnie was waiting for miles to put the window back.

  20. Chapter 25 Winnie was standing in front of the touch me not cottage. She was thinking about how she helped Mae escape. She could not be charged as an accomplice because of her age. She poured the magic sprig water on the toad.

  21. Epilogue Mae and Tuck went to Tree-Gap to see if Winnie was still alive. He stopped at a dinner and asked about what happened to the wood and the spring. It turned out that the big tree was struck by lightning an the wood was bulldozed. Tuck went to the cemetery and found Winnie’s grave. Winnie died a t the age 78.
