Eid–Ul-Fitr. Each Eid festival is marked by the sighting of the crescent ( new moon) . Ramadan – 29 or 30 days month of fasting Ramadan ends with a celebration called ' Eid-Ul-Fitr ( eed -al-fitter), or the Festival of Breaking the Fast.

  3. Ramadan – 29 or 30 days month of fasting • Ramadan ends with a celebration called 'Eid-Ul-Fitr (eed-al-fitter), or the Festival of Breaking the Fast

  4. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrates the fact that Allah (God) gave Muslims the Qur’anto help them live good lives Qur’an

  5. On the day of Eid everyone dresses up in their best clothes and shoes

  6. Girls and women like to decorate their hands with beautiful patterns using mendhi paste (henna)

  7. Zakatul-fitr • -Giving money to the poor people • at the end of ramzan month, • Must be given before salatuleid. • The amount of zakatul-fitr is “1 SA” (2176 grams)of dates/barley or money equivalent to it • zakatul-fitr is binding (compulsory) on every Muslim

  8. Salat-ul-eid • The time for salat-ul-eid starts when the sun rises • Muslims offer prayer in congregation. Only two rak’ahs of eid on open places or in mosque are offered

  9. After prayers everyone wishes each other a huge ‘EID MUBARAK’ ‘HAPPY EID’

  10. - Yummy sweets and desserts are then eaten to mark the occasion - Eid cards, gifts and money are often exchanged

  11. Friends and families like to get together on Eid to celebrate the special day/s
