Menposingascopsassault,gang-rapewomaninAssam • Guwahati:Inyetanothershockingincident,amotherofachildwasallegedlyassaultedandgang-raped by four culprits in NagerberaareaofKamrupdistrictinAssam. • TheincidentoccurredinMandiravillageinNagarberaataround12inmidnight,whenthefouraccusedenteredthehouseofthevictimposingascops. • Afterenteringherhouse,theaccusedcoveredthevictim’smouthandattackedherwithasharpobject.Later,theculpritsthrewherinthegroundandallegedlygang-rapedher. • Reportedly,thevictimscreamedforhelpfollowingwhichtheneighborsrushedtowardsherhouse.However,theculpritsfledthescenebeforehelpreachedvictim’shouse. • ThewomanwassenttotheBokoHospitalformedicalattention.Meanwhile,policereachedthesiteandinitiatedaninvestigation. • ThewomanidentifiedthreeofthefourculpritsasAjmalHaque,NijamUddin,andEusubAli.Thefourthaccusedisyettobeidentified. • ThefamilymembersofthevictimhaveregisteredacomplaintinMandirapolicestationregardingtheincident.
