  1. Pakodaaaa Hmmmm - Ribbon Pakodaaaaa Ribbon pakoda, also known as ribbon chat, is a fried snack made of rice flour, besan, fried gram and spices like chilli powder and cumin. Typically, these pakodas are made during festivals such as Diwali and Christmas, as well as when the weather is nice and fine. The crunchy, munchy ribbon pakoda makes you unable to stop eating. Ingredients: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Gram flour - ¼ cup Fried gram - ¼ cup Rice flour - 1 cup Cumin seeds - ½ teaspoon Asafoetida - ⅛ teaspoon White sesame seeds - 1 ½ tablespoons Sundew refined sunflower oil hot - 2 teaspoons Salt - required as per taste Sundew refined sunflower oil - Required as much as that would be enough for deep frying. Ginger - ½ inch ● Method: Dough for ribbon pakoda: ● ½ cup of fried gram is powdered in a mixie or grinder and correctly measures powder to the ¼ cup for the recipe. Place the sieve over a large and measure the flour along with the powdered fried gram. Add all of them to the sieve and sieve them together. Grind the cumin seeds in a mortar and pestle or using a rolling pin, add this mixture to the flour, along with red chilli powder, sesame seeds and salt. Mix them all together. Now heat the two teaspoons of Sundew refined sunflower oil in a kadai and pour it over the flour. Mix them well with the help of the spoon and use your fingers to incorporate the oil well. Make a fine paste of ginger and chilli. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of water and filter it to a bowl. Now pour the mixture to the flour Add the required amount of water from time to time to make a fine dough that is not sticky but smooth. If the dough is dry then sprinkle some water. Taste the dough and add the salt and chilli as per your taste. ● ● ● ● ● Making of ribbon pakoda: ● ● Pour oil into a deep fry pan or kadai and heat it on a medium flame. Grease the mould and fit the ribbon pakoda plate to the mould.

  2. Drop a small portion of the dough and check if the oil is hot enough for the dough to rise steadily without browning. Press the dough into the hot oil, and move your hand in a circular motion to make a disc of ribbon pakoda. Fry until golden brown on a medium flame. For even crispness, fry the dough on low flame. Now cool the pakoda completely and break them into fine pieces as per convenience, store in an airtight container. ● ● ● Now the crispy, munchy, crunchy and spicy ribbon pakoda is ready to be served.
